While it doesn't reveal the passwords themselves, the software can provide you with some useful details, like their length, strength and more. Also, because it doesn't show the actual passwords, the software can be used to advise other users on their passwords, without peeking at their birth dates, full names or other words and numbers they choose as their passwords.

Password Security Scanner is part of a huge collection of freeware utilities. Just like its counterparts, it comes in a small package and it can be installed in under a minute. It works on all modern Windows platforms, including Windows 10 and it doesn't ask for any special tools or services.

Running the application is all you have to do. Stored passwords will be gathered in just a few seconds and they will be displayed in a list, along with numerous details. You can find out how many characters a password has, if they are numerical, lower or uppercase and more, at a single glance. All details are displayed in separate columns, but you can also bring up a properties window, for each password, which is more comfortable.

The software can retrieve passwords from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, MS Outlook and other applications. It can also retrieve dialup and VPN passwords. If you store new passwords while the application is running, you can hit a Refresh option to retrieve it.

The details of each password can be copied to the clipboard, with a single click. Furthermore, the software is capable of exporting them in a table, in HTML format. You can export the details for a selected password or for the entire list.
